After 20 years in theatre production, post pandemic, Sarah craved a career change.
A family bereavement introduced her to a celebrant who was just incredible and that’s when she knew she wanted to help people in this way. THIS was the career for her.

Hi, I’m Audrey, what better way to embrace lockdown than making plans for the future, embracing a new career & studying during the winter!
This is where the AMC came in! I have changed career a couple of times, first I was a Dietitian & Nutritionist, then by accident, I came across “all things wedding” & became a wedding planner. My next move was to become a wedding celebrant in Greece. I spent a long time googling celebrant training, it’s so important to find the right mode of teaching that fits in with your style & your learning skills, I also wanted a course that was modern & vibrant, reflecting ceremonies today. The Academy of Modern Celebrancy ticked all the boxes! I was assigned a fantastic trainer & mentor. They broke the mold when they made Stewart. I think he was made just for me! The trainer, student fit was perfect. Week by week we worked through each module, through video calls, 1 to 1s & workbooks. He trained me, gave me advice (still does, I have been known to fire him through a message so I can run something by him - he is always there for you) & we laughed a lot. The whole experience was a pleasure. The training is thorough as is the content & you get what you put into it. The more passionate you are about learning & using the life skills you already have the more you get out of it. Top tip, do one module at a time, trust the system, each module adds to the next then it all fits together seamlessly. Jennifer did a seriously amazing job when she developed this course. In closing I would just like to add, the AMC staff are always there for you & all the celebrants are always there to support each other. It’s a community - It doesn’t get much better than that! Then your new job begins, you're passionate & excited, you wait for your first inquiry & then it appears! It’s just the beginning - to infinity & beyond.

She was attracted to the Academy of Modern Celebrant due to the Cours being online but with mentor and group support. Got my first booking and certificate on the same day
Just wanted to share my joy with you all on this lovely sunny day! This is the face of someone who became fully certified for weddings AND got their first confirmed wedding booking, on the same day! Beyond overjoyed! Thank you to the AMC, Jennifer, my INCREDIBLE mentor Alison Ann Celebrant, and everyone else on here; it’s a joy being on this journey with such inspiring (and kind) company. I have never been more passionate about anything else in my life.
I can honestly say that it has been the best learning experience of my life. Having worked in HR I have been on many courses, but none have impacted or inspired me as much as this one. Apart from teaching you how to become a celebrant I went on a whole personal journey as well. I can honestly say I know myself better now and I am filled with the confidence that this is the right role for me to carry out. I have never been more passionate about anything else in my life.

I can’t wait to see what the next six months brings me.
Six months ago I was debating whether to sign up to the AMC training. I had always wanted to be a celebrant but that little voice of doubt, that I wasn’t good enough and I would never make it was there and that combined with the complete lack of marketing and business experience made me hesitate on the threshold for many months.
How glad am I that I made the jump!
Just under six months later, my wedding training is complete, (naming still ongoing) I have my first booking for a wedding in August, a second enquiry in the email (still got to convert), I’ve done a wedding fair, visited three venues, made connections with some lovely local celebrants and just had my first article published.
No it hasn’t been easy, during that time I had four weeks in bed with covid, I also Tutor two days a week ( I am an ex teacher) and home educate my child with complex needs while fighting for a special school place. I am also a registered carer for my husband and daughter and had to cope with a flooded kitchen and 4 weeks of build work, so this has been done by grabbing a moment here and there when ever I can. But by far the biggest gift the AMC has given me, is Me back. I have had to rediscover who I am, so that I can market myself to my ideal couples and families. Being a parent and carer it is so easy to loose your identity and this is what had happened to me and I don’t intend to give me up again!
And where ever you are in six months time, whether it is one step forward or many I hope you have as great a sense of achievement as I have. I can’t wait to see what the next six months brings me.

Georgia has already secured her first wedding this August from her Celebrant buddy!
Georgia is currently a primary school teacher and last year had a Celebrant led ceremony for her wedding due to the registrars not being available.
